This page is dedicated to all the animals I have lost over the years. Some have pictures, some don't, but none the less these animals should be remembered. All I ask for those who will read what I have written is to respect the animal that I have written about and understand that every death I see I re-act differently to it, some I cry, others I just get very upset. Some write-up may upset some people, so read at your own will, but these animals still deserve respect.
Teddy
This sweety was found in my backyard stumbling. He was so weak that all I had to do was walk over to him and pick him up, there was no struggle, all he did was look up at me as if he knew I was going to help him. When examing him, he was very under weight as one can see from the keel/breast bone sticking out. I had Teddy for about 3 weeks when he suddenly stoped eating and had a turn for the worst. It took Teddy about 1 hour to pass on. He fought and fought to his last breath and the whole time he stared into my eyes asking for help but all I could do was comfort and encourage. But it wasn't enough.

Cormorand x3 (sea birds)
This past summer I got in 3 of these birds with all the same injures, shatered wings (as one can see from the picture how the wing twists). They were also all juviniles. I brought 2 of them a bird rehaber friend of mine who euthanized them because they were beyond repair and the 3rd one died at my house due to it's injures.

Chevy
This was the first Baby Robin I ever got. She was found by my co-worker under her chevy car. Then I got Hoot, then #15&16 (didn't name them). 15&16 came to me a few weeks old   after a terriable storm knoking them from their nest. Robins are like people they need fruits and protien (meat). I couldn't get them any more worm because the ground was freezing up so my mom and I decided to give them Tofo. They couldnot digest it resulting in Chevy, #15&16 deathes. These little guys were very messy and sometime annoying but I miss their sweet faces and cherpping calls in the morning light.

Sweetpea (fledging sqeaker~pigeon)
This sweetpea was broght to me by a co-worker saying that some boys saw her get hit by a car. She was in good phyical shape but sufferd a lot of head/brain injures. You can tell if an animal has a brain injury by the twitching of the head and unfocused eyesight. Unfortunatly this little one didn't survive her brain injury.

Hoot
Hoot is the second baby robin I got. (first was Chevy but she unfortunately passed away) Hoot was brought to the SPCA by a lady saying it was a bluejay. HA!! He was about a week old when I got him and after A LOT of every 15min feedings he grew into a very beautiful Robin. He was named by my sister because he had a habit of "hooting" at her. I still have this little guy because I was unable to release him due to his downy/waterproof feathers didn't grow in. He eates about 4-5 times his body weight every day even though he is actually an undersized adult Robin!!! His diet is a wild mix of berries and a catfood mix for his protien since I can't get any worm for him. His picture is life size but a normal sized Robin would be about 5x that size.
He doesn't like human intaction which I'm keeping it that way for a hopeful release in the spring.
July 2005
Well poor little Hoot passed away   on Feb.19, 2006. He was a little on the side sick on the 18th and then we had a freezing cold night (-40C)that night and the heater brunt out. Unfortunatly he couldn't bare the cold. :,(
Chickpea
I found her June 12/06 in my back yard. She tried to fly but couldn't. When I caught her she was very weak and a young bird. She was sweet, calm, and semi alert. She loved it when you talk to and patted her and loved it when you made eye contact with her. Sadly she pasted away on June14/06 from her illness.
On the same day I got Chickpea (June12/06) I got a juvinile Robin in. He had a broken leg and some bruesing along that same side. At first he was doing well but he took a turn for the worst. He stoped eating and started sleeping a lot. He passed away a few moments after I got home from running around town trying to find a feeding tube for him. He pasted away peacefully.

June 30/06
A juvinile Robin was brought into work by some very concern people. The little guy had a snapped wing. I was going to have her put down but for some reason I thought I could save her even though her wounds were extensive. I tried for 3 days to save her but she passed away on the morning of July2/06.
Elizabeth the Crow June 21, 2006
I got a call one night from a lady saying she was walking her dog and they came across a black bird. I went down to where they were and saw that it was a juvinile crow. Upon further inspection I noticed 4 tiny puncture wounds to her chest and scratches down her back....she was attacked by a cat or what I really think a feral kitten. She couldn't walk so I thought it was just shock but after she healed from all her wounds she still couldn't walk. I didn't feel any broken bones in her legs so I dismised broken legs but I think that's what happened. When her toes started to curl I tried to splint them numerous times but she always riped them off. She did have a great personality, made funny and cute noises in the morning when I called out to her; loved to be pet just a certain way. Soon I found her disablity was too much for me to handel and I couldn't give her the life she truly diserved so with the help of a friend we tried to find a forever home for her.   I got in contact with a nice lady from Newfoundland who was very interested in her. When I got off the phone with her I went outside to tell Elizabeth the good news and when I called out to her she lifted her head then curled it under her chest as if she was going to sleep but her wings droped. She had died! She had been a little on the sad side but I didn't think sad enough to loose the will to live.
She's now flying high and free in the best home she could ever get. Free from a cage, free from pain, free from everything but clear blue open skies.
She will be sorrowfully missed by me.

Jacob, the unbelievable pigeon
Belle and I found Jacob at the end of September after I got home from work. When I caught him he had two shatered legs and the skin on his chest was riped off. I gave him the night to rest before I treated any of him wounds. The next day I splinted both legs and cleaned out his chest wound. A few hours later I heard Jacob flapping around in his cage, I took to cage down and opened to find him staring at me and taking in his finally breathes of life. I picked him up and comforted him in his last moments which went by very peacefully.
Jacob is now flying high and free with all the other birds that went through my hands and the hands of other dedicated rehabers.
